The following outlines our privacy statement on which we will provide our business services to you
and is valid from 11/1/2018. Please read this document carefully and if you have any questions please

information from you before we can offer any advice on mortgages. This is due to the fact that a key
issue in relation to mortgage advice is affordability. Such information should be produced promptly
upon our request. Where the creditor is unable to carry out an assessment of creditworthiness because
the consumer chooses not to provide the information or verification necessary for an assessment of
creditworthiness, the credit cannot be granted.

Provision of Information
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to us, insurers and lenders when
you transact business and throughout the life of your policy/mortgage. It is important that you ensure
that all statements you make on application or claim forms and other documents are full and accurate.
We cannot be held responsible for incorrect data held in the event of non-disclosure. If you fail to
disclose any material information to us or your insurers/lender, this could invalidate your insurance
cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid. To assist us in providing you with a
comprehensive service and to keep our records up-to date, please notify us of any changes to your
personal circumstances, e.g. name change, change of address, etc.

Data Protection and Confidentiality of Information
Smart Mortgags complies with the Data Protection Act, 1988 and 2003, treating all personal data as
confidential information. We will use this data only for the purpose(s) intended. We will not disclose
such information except as permitted by you or as required by law. The information you provide us
will be shared with various lenders we have an agency with. We may receive referrals from
companies we have an agreement with, if this is the case we will obtain your approval to share
information from you. You are entitled to a copy of the information we hold about you on request of
same in writing. You have the right to have any information we hold on you that is incorrect,
corrected by contacting us. We are required to retain your records, for a minimum period of six years
after the period following the termination of any relationship between us.
